Child Health Plus

Provides free or low-cost healthcare for qualifying children. If you qualify, you will need to choose a health plan for your child. Health Plans work with a group (network) of doctors, clinics, hospitals and pharmacies to pay for your care. You will need to choose one of the doctors from the health plan to be your child’s Primary Care Provider. Your child will go to her or his PCP and the other doctor’s in the Plan’s network for care.

Child Health Plus Plans are free or have a monthly premium, depending on your household income. The Plans cover the same health care services. But they are not all the same:

• They can have different doctor and hospital network.
• They can cover different prescriptions drugs
• They can have different quality and patient satisfaction ratings

Even if you aren’t sure whether you qualify, if your income is limited, and if you or someone in your families child needs health care, you should apply for Child Health Plus and have a qualified enroller in your state look at your situation.
